Manx woman achieves second highest accountancy results in the world

Holly Karran

Holly Karran hopes to be an inspiration to others who have hearing loss

An associate with PwC Isle of Man has achieved, not only the highest mark on the Island in her final accountancy exams but the second highest mark in the world.

Twenty-five-year-old Senior Audit Associate Holly Karran is the woman behind the achievement.

As well as qualifying, her hard work has been rewarded with a silver medal, £400 in prize money and a certificate of merit - a surprise to Holly, who says she wasn't aware these types of awards were handed out on a global scale.

Holly, who has a hearing loss, now wants to volunteer with the Manx Deaf Society.

Holly is passionate about using her success as a platform to give younger children with similar cases of hearing loss the confidence to know they are accepted in society and can achieve whatever they want to achieve.
