Potentials of network on show
Self-driving cars and delivery drones are just some of services one Island network provider believes will become reality if investment is secured for 5G.
At an event this afternoon, Manx Telecom showcased the opportunities of introducing the next generation network to the Isle of Man.
From its headquarters in Braddan, the provider was joined by global communications company Huawei and their '5G is Now' roadshow.
Along with enabling consumers to download movies in 10 seconds instead of 10 minutes, Manx Telecom claims 5G would drive business and economic growth.
The firm says the Island could become a potential testbed for the high speed network which is expected to be rolled out in 2019.
