Manx inflation rate dips to 1.8%

Treasury maintains its target of keeping CPI around two percent

The Isle of Man’s inflation rate dipped by a further 0.1 percent last month, bringing the overall figure to 1.8 percent.

‘Miscellaneous goods and services’ saw the biggest increase having risen 6.3 percent in comparison to 12 months ago.

Alcohol and tobacco is the second largest contributor, increasing by 5.8 percent in the same period.

Rent, driving lessons, preschool fees and kennel fees are among the largest movers in the year to November, rising by an average of 12.9 percent.

Meanwhile, oil and other fuels, gas, clothing and oils and fats see the biggest decreases.

Over a one month period, transport continues to see the highest increase, at 4.8 percent, while recreation and culture experienced deflation of 1.8 percent over the same period.
