
Negotiations are underway as the Bahrain Telecommunications Company makes a bid to buy the parent of a Manx-based telecom firm.
Cable and Wireless Communications’ Monaco and Islands business unit could be bought by the Bahrain company – which would include the Island’s mobile firm Sure .
Reports in the UK press say the talks are at an early stage and Cable and Wireless Communications has confirmed an approach has been made.
The business unit targeted by the Bahrainis covers Monaco, the Maldives, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man.
