Finance, insurance and business services are highest
If you want to get ahead, get a job in finance.
In the House of Keys this week, Policy and Reform Minister John Shimmin revealed finance, insurance and business services paid the highest average wage – while restaurants and hotels paid the lowest.
He faced a question for written answer from West Douglas MHK Chris Thomas about average wages for each sector of the Manx economy.
Mr Shimmin said the latest figures, from 2015, showed the average weekly pay in finance – before deductions and tax - was £810, compared to £458 for those in distribution, hotels and restaurants.
