The director of a Manx-based accountancy and tax services firm says off-Island chain retailers shouldn't face criticism over whether they pay tax on the Island.
Phillip Deardon of PKF says, in the past, some competing businesses based here have complained that United Kingdom chains don't pay tax in the Isle of Man.
But, speaking on Manx Radio's Sunday Opinion programme, Mr Dearden told Roger Watterson those firms were paying higher rates of tax because they were UK-registered.
He said that meant arguments about whether they had an unfair trading advantage were missing the point:
