The first team has been fired from the Sure Apprentice contest, a version of the BBC TV programme for Manx schools.
Four teams of sixth-formers from Ballakermeen High School began the competition, but Innovation went out on the first task.
The teams were asked to draw up and execute a market research plan for Sure which would serve its younger customers.
But judges Simon Last-Sutton of Cable and Wireless, West Douglas MHK Geoff Corkish and freelance journalist Joanne Clague unanimously eliminated the Innovation team.
The remaining groups - SAP, Therefore and Excelsior – have already started the second task, which is designing a marketing strategy for Sure.
