Volunteer crews freed the boat allowing it to continue on its journey to Strangford Lough
Peel lifeboat was called out earlier this week after a 38-foot yacht had become entangled with a lobster pot.
The boat was located five miles to the west of Peel Castle where crews freed the rudder from the marker lines allowing it to continue its journey towards Northern Ireland.
The two people on board the casualty vessel were uninjured.
Volunteer coxswain Jon Corlett said: "After an initial assessment, we attempted to dislodge the lines wrapped around the rudder by towing the yacht. When this was unsuccessful, one of our crew members went aboard the vessel. Using a long boat hook, he was able to free the rudder from the lobster pot market lines."
RNLI boats were deployed just before 6am on Tuesday (28 May) and by 9am it had returned to Peel.
The volunteers then returned to their homes and prepared to head to their day-jobs.
