Free yoga and wellbeing class to mark World Cancer Day

Class to be held in Douglas on Sunday

A qualified health and cancer coach and specialist yoga teacher is holding a free event for anyone affected by cancer today.

Wendy Ranft-Gerber – who owns and runs Health & Balance – says the ‘Yoga For Cancer’ class will focus on the therapeutic benefits that the activity can provide.

It will be held at Space Yoga Studio, Bucks Road, Douglas, from 2pm - 2:45pm on Sunday (4 February).

Places are still available but must be booked in advance HERE.

Wendy told Manx Radio it will be slightly different from a normal yoga class:

She said: "As a cancer yoga teacher I have seen the benefits that yoga can provide in terms of positive mental health and wellbeing for people living with cancer and all those affected by it.

"As well as supporting cancer patients and survivors, I also believe in supporting local cancer charities to help make a difference.

"Macmillan Cancer Support Isle of Man is the chosen charity for Health & Balance this year, so the class on World Cancer Day will be the first in a series of events on similar themes this year."

You can hear more from Wendy chatting to Christy DeHaven on One to Three earlier this week HERE.
