Rob Callister

Rob Callister is an independent candidate and this is the second time he's stood in a general election.

He's currently one of Onchan's MHKs after winning a seat in the 2016 general election.

His hobbies and interests include foreign travelling, DIY, walking, snooker and pool, and he has a cat called Oscar.

Rob says: "My primary focus has always been on representing Onchan together with the wider Manx Community through supporting individuals, scrutinising government policies and ensuring that the right decisions are backed up by solid evidence, however difficult those decisions might be for the island." 

We asked each candidate to choose three priorities from the following issues or add their own:

Climate Change, heritage, tourism, public transport, affordable housing, roads, mental health, education, falling birth rate, encouraging university students to return to the Island.

Rob chose climate change, affordable housing and education, but also added tourism, mental health and life-long learning.
