Chris Thomas
Chris Thomas
Chris Thomas is an independent candidate and this is his fourth time contesting a Manx General Election.
He is Douglas Central's current MHK, but is also a Financial Analyst and has three children.
He was first elected in a by-election in 2013, having stood unsuccessfully in 2011.
In 2016 he topped the poll in his constituency.
Chris says: "My hobbies and interests include jogging, playing the double bass and gardening."
We asked each candidate to choose three priorities from the following issues or add their own:
Climate change, heritage, tourism, public transport, affordable housing, roads, mental health, education, falling birth rate, encouraging university students to return to the Island.
Chris chose climate change, affordable housing and the falling birth rate/population.
He also added some of his own priorities, including more useful economic growth for people, pension reform, rebalancing public finances and says Government should be responsible to the public to make change happen.
