Popular TT website forum remains open

Change of heart after mass of support from genuine TT fans

The discussion forum on a popular TT website is to remain open after all.

The moderator of TTWebsite.com had posted he was going to restrict the site to a read only facility after numerous anonymous and abusive posts and people refusing to comply with the terms and conditions of the forum.

Malcolm MacDonald says he'd also been subjected to personal threats and abuse.

However, after receiving a mass of support from people he describes as "genuine TT stalwarts and long-standing members of the forum", he's decided it would be unfair to take the discussion facility away from those who want to take part in sensible and relevant discussion because of the stupid acts of an unwelcome minority.

He says he has now taken measures including taking on new, trusted moderators and implementing more pre-registration checks to try and weed out those who are not wanted on the forum. He now hopes those who have supported him will play an active role in maintaining a forum which is free of "idiots and morons" who think they can inflict their unacceptable behaviour on the majority of decent people who use the facility.

The forum on the official TT website, iomtt.com, was closed down last year.
