Call for work to start without delay
A form of compromise - but a good one.
That's how MHK Chris Robertshaw has described his amendment to plans for Douglas promenade.
The trams will now run the entire length of the promenade - but with just a single line from the war memorial to the Sea Terminal.
Mr Robertshaw's amendment was supported in Tynwald yesterday by 17 votes to 14 in a combined vote.
Speaking on Mandate (18 Jan) he said government now needs to get on with the work:
Treasury responds to report calling for government to reduce its size
President of Tynwald 'genuinely surprised and humbled' to receive OBE
Reggie the Whippet freed from promenade railings
Kirk Michael fundraiser to take on 31st marathon in 31 days
