Derailment caused significant damage
The Manx Electric Railway Society is hopeful a key piece of the Island's heritage transport network can be saved.
An unattended, empty tram car - which was one of the originals - derailed near the Bungalow on Wednesday, having rolled down the track from the summit of Snaefell.
It suffered significant damage.
