Alternative not up to task
A diesel locomotive bought to help with work on the Island's heritage railways was a failure on 'a number of fronts', according to Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer.
The £400,000 train has been beset with a series of breakdowns since it was purchased in 2014 - and it's understood parts are still awaiting repairs.
It was labelled a 'disastrous purchase' by a former Onchan MHK.
Speaking on Talking Heads earlier, Ray Harmer said the decision to buy what had been a cheaper alternative to the diesel originally intended, had obviously been flawed.
